An Oral History Of CLYDE JONES Today is April 5, 1999. My name is Ann Bethel and I'm here with Clarabelle Snodgrass at the home of Clyde Jones in Kerrville, Texas, on behalf of the Kerr County Historical Commission's Oral History Project. We are talking to Mr. Jones about his experiences as the owner for many years of KERV, Kerrville's first radio station. (Ed. Note: The following is a transcript of the audiotape and has been edited only for clarity of meaning.)-AB SNODGRASS: Today we're at the home of Clyde Jones and his wife, Bernadette, is here with us also. We mainly wanted to talk to Clyde, to get a little history on the radio station that is now 50 years old here in Kerrville. I'm Clarabelle Snodgrass and we're with the Oral History Project of the Kerr County Historical Commission. As you may know, Clyde, we're trying to get some history of people that have lived around here a good while so we can record some of these things so we'll have some history to tell other people about in a few more years. So, we're glad to be here with you and, I think, to begin with, we will just say, ask you to tell us when you came to Kerrville and how you got here and got things started. JONES: This goes way back.
